Booking

Public sessions last one hour, enough time for around three rounds of sauna, cold water and rest at a relaxed pace.

A full hour gives you proper time to rest between rounds, not just time in the heat. It leaves space to move between sauna, cold water and rest without rushing, so the quieter moments between rounds become part of the experience too.

Public sessions are capped at 10 guests.

Yes. Private group sessions are always available through our Wunderbook booking system. Select ‘More’ in the booking menu and choose the group-booking option from the dropdown.

Absolutely. Many guests visit alone.

Occasional collaborations and community events are announced on Instagram. Follow @an_sruthan_sauna.

The Experience

Typically around 90–100°C. Because it's a live wood fire rather than a switch, temperature moves a little through the day.

No, public sessions are social. Conversation is welcome, with consideration for guests who'd prefer quiet.

No, beginners are completely welcome.

As long as you like. There's no fixed requirement.

No, it's entirely optional. Cold showers are also available.

Yes. We encourage everyone to use the outdoor showers before entering the plunge. You can also use the showers on their own if you prefer a gentler way to cool between rounds.

Yes. Natural springs rise from around 15 feet beneath the ground and continually replenish it.

No, it's natural spring water, so temperature changes with the seasons.

Yes, usually a eucalyptus base with changing seasonal additions such as lavender, sweet orange or lemon.

Before You Visit

Swimwear, a towel to sit on, a towel to dry with, suitable footwear and a water bottle.

Yes. A divided changing yurt beside the sauna provides separate changing areas, with men to the right and women to the left.

Yes, outdoor cold showers beside the plunge.

Yes. Fresh spring well water is available on site.

No, there are currently no toilets on site. Please use facilities before arriving.

Yes, parking is available on site.

Around 10–15 minutes before your session, to park, check in and change.

An Sruthán sits within a working farm, so the electric gate keeps livestock secure. It opens around 15 minutes before each session and stays open until about 15 minutes after. If you arrive earlier and find it closed, motion-detection cameras notify staff, who can open it remotely, or call 087 194 2524. It opens automatically as you leave.

Safety & Etiquette

Guests must be 16 or older.

No, sauna and cold-water immersion aren't suitable during pregnancy.

No, please don't attend under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.

Yes, with consideration for other guests. We'd suggest filming early or late in the session, then disconnecting fully in between.

An Sruthán is an outdoor experience, and the changing Wicklow weather is part of its character. Sessions continue unless conditions become unsafe.
